Essay

The antiepileptic role of the heightening of functional activity of caudal parts of cerebellar paleocortex was shown on different models of epileptogenesis, namely,- foci of epileptic activity, generalized seizure and absence epilepsy as well. Tose parameters of electrical stimulations (ES), which effectively induced antiseizure effects, were determined. The peculiarities of ES observed under conditions of creation of epileptic foci with different epileptogens along with different their locations- both in neocortex and limbic structures, were investigated. The efficacy of ES of paleocerebellar cortex upon locmotor disturbances induced via ischemic damage of brain, and similar ones induced via exposture of animals to hypoxic hypoxia was also established. The thiols level increasing both in brain tissue and blood was caused by ES. Also the increase of triptophan and methionin incorporation by brain tissue along with the absence of effects upon level of tumor necrozing factor-alpha were characteristic forES of paleocerebellar cortex.
