Kyrychok M. The play "Give vent to one’s heart, it’ll lead one to captivity" by Kropyvnytsky M.L. in Ukrainian literary and theatrical context of the second half of the XIX-th century.

Object – different variants of the play “Give vent to one’s heart, it’ll lead one to captivity” by M.Kropyvnytsy. Subject – playwright’s creative evolution, the transformation of the main motives, image-bearing system, genre-stylistic play structure. Aim – the consideration of each text of the play, the correlation of traditions and innovation in comparison with this playwrights works and other playwrights’. Novelty – different variants of the play, the peculiarities of their artistic content, the role in the development of Ukrainian drama and theater are researched monographically. Practical significance – using the results of the work in theatrical staging, in Ukrainian literature history courses and in culture history courses.
