Dissertation is devoted to research of ensuring of the rights and freedoms of a person as determining factor in the process of social-political reforms of Ukrainian society; prospects for growing of democratic state are shown. It is stressed that existence of a person is an important problem of modern democratic society, its uniqueness and self-evaluation. The efficacy and functioning of legal system in Ukraine on the path to democratization of the society connected with affirmation of the rights and freedoms of a person is analyzed; practical recommendations on improvement of the mechanism of its ensuring are worked out.
