Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problem of arterial vessels alteration in essential hypertension, study of arterial viscoelastic properties violations, identification of factors and pathogenetic mechanisms, responsible for the indicated processes, and the possibility of reversion of arterial vessels viscoelastic properties violations under the influence of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor enelapril and angio-tensin II receptor antagonist irbesartan treatment. It was fixed, that essential hypertension development accompanied by the stiffness increasing and distensibility decreasing, predominantly in elastic arteries, and activation of type I collagen and structural glycosaminoglycans production. After the treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor enalapril, angiotensin II receptor antagonist irbesartan or their combination reversion of arterial vessels viscoelastic properties and connective tissue metabolism violations had been observed with normalization of arterial stiffness and distensibility and partial decreasing of type I collagen and structural glycosaminoglycans production after the 6 month of treatment with the maximal effect in the group of patients with combined treatment.
