Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the studying of the psychological-and-pedagogical conditions of harmonizing the ethnic self-consciousness of the youth. Having analysed the problem of forming the ethnic self-consciousness, we worked out and empirically investigated the conceptual model of harmonizing the ethnic self-consciousness of young people. The organization of special informational-creative activity that was directed to increase the personality's cognitive complexity and to enrich his/her value-sense sphere has been contributed to the process of harmonizing the ethnic self-consciousness of the youth. The actuality of the mediative-dialogue, creative, critical re-understanding of the ethnic-centred stereotypes has been revealed. According to this aim the developing-educational program of harmonizing the ethnic self-consciousness has been worked out. The used program has been shown to contribute to the dialogue-cultural auto-organization of ethnic self-consciousness and to forming the tolerant personality who is open to the intercultural dialogue.
