The dissertation covers the issues related to disharmonic psychic states and personal disharmonies in teachers of general secondary schools. Analyzed are the factors affecting the development of disharmonic psychic formations, peculiarities of psychodiagnostic detecting of these formations, and psychological and pedagogical conditions enabling their effective correction. Determined was the factor structure of disharmonic psychic formations showing that these formations are closely related to disharmonic combination of personal features, psychic states and work conditions, which were elicited through popular psychodiagnostic procedures, content analysis of self-reports, and expert judgements. The model of psychic correction of the disharmonies spotted in teachers was elaborated and tested; the comparative analysis was made regarding effectiveness of psychic states and personal disharmonies correction depending on chosen corrective approaches and techniques. Evaluated was the feasibility of prevention ofthe "emotional burnout" professional syndrome, as well as other neurotic and psychosomatic disorders in teachers. The data obtained in the study can be used for improvement of pedagogical activity, harmonization of personality and professional advancement of teachers, and for prevention of psychogenic health problems in teachers.
