Essay

The complex hygienic characteristics of work conditions at the main stages of the technological cycle in cultivation and processing of sunflowers is given and their harmful effect on the functional state and health of workers has been determined. A set of preventive measures is proposed of which the main are proposals for"protection by time" for machine operators; target application of means for plant protection for a specific types of work; use of proper work shedules; determination of sanitary and protection zones under ultra-low applications of agrochemicals using ultra-low flying apparatus. There were uswd hygienic, physiological, sanitary-statistic and mathematical methods. The scientific novelty is in establishing main regularities in formation of the functional body strain in workers depending on work conditions at different stages of the technological cycle in cultivation of sunflowers and their processing; in grounding proper approaches to developing preventive measures. The final normative, methodical and information documents allowed to realize the system of the controlling and imroving work conditions, prevention of their unfavourable effect on the health of agricultural workers. The obtained results were used for developing state sanitary standarts SSS 8.8.1.2.001-98 "Transportation, storage and application of pesticides in the national economy", SSS 3.3.2.040-99 "Sanitary regulations on the equipment and operation of means of small mechanization for agricultural production", draft "Instructions for ULV application of pesticides using super-light flying apparatus in the national economy".
