Prokopenko I. Syntactic functions of synsemantic verbs

This dissertation highlights syntactic functions of verbs with weak semantics in complex which have been defined as synsemantic in the thesis. The linguistic issue of synsemantics is regarded as lexico-grammatical, its nature and origin conditions were pointed out. Along with the synsemantic verbs were singled out the following lexico-semantic groups: deictic (only a common pointing to processuality takes place in the meaning structure), phasal (processing sema is combined with the semas of beginning, keeping, varying and finishing of an action), qualificative (semantic structure holds apparent qualificative semas that stylistically marked). The classification of synsemantic verbs is determined, their typological semantic and syntactic characteristics have been investigated. In the thesis synsemantic verbs have been analysed distributive by working out of syntactic and semantic functional matrices of the appropriate predicates. Minimal structural types of sentences with synsemantic verbal items have been pointed out as predicates and their morphologic and syntactic realizations have been analysed. Synsemantic verbs carry out compensative, modificative and qualificative functions in the sentence structure.
