Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the problem of regionalism phenomenon as an aggregate of the political orientations and political movements, which express the territorial communities' aspirations for the political subjectivity or more wide authorities for the regional power institutions. Using the native and foreign investigations, the dissertator researches the main directions in a political process which regionalism influences, and argues the ethnoregionalism concept as a type of regionalism. This theoretical base let to research in what way the regionalism became a powerful political factor in the development of the civic institutions and state policy of our country. There is considered also the regionalism's influence to the state arrangement, regional and ethnic policy in contemporary Ukraine. The author also proposes the recommendations for making the regional relations not to be confrontational.
