The thesis for a candidate's degree of philological sciences on speciality 10.02.01 - Ukrainian language. - Yuriy Fed'kovych Chernivtsi National University. - Chernivtsi, 2005. The thesis presents the research of linguistic peculiarities of west Ukrainian hand-written apocryphal collections of XVII - XVIII centuries. The role of manuscripts in the historical processes of the Ukrainian literary language formation has been also found out. The importance of this work lies in the analysis of completely Ukrainian features of vocalism and consonants, certified in apocryphal collections. The inflection tendencies have also been investigated. The results of the investigation give possibility to establish the following: west Ukrainian hand-written apocryphal collections of XVII - XVIII centuries show the characteristic features of Ukrainian language. The dialect features that are reflected in the texts of collections under investigation and which are typical of modern south-western dialect have been studied.
