The dissertation investigates syntactic character and the stylistic peculiarities of the verbal etiquette in Ukrainian (on the material of the works and the epistolary of the Ukrainian writers and cultural workers of the19th and 20th centuries.) The author of the dissertation introduces the concept of 'etiquette utterance' to indicate the communiucative realisation and modification of a gramamtical sentence bearing basic formal-grammatical characteristics, specifically, predicativity, modality and intonation.
