Essay

The thesis presents the results of complex clinicomorphological investigation of aortic aneurysm's nosological forms from the stadpoint of evidence-based medicine. Case histories of 425 in-patients and the autopsy protocols of 186 deceased for the 15-year period. Atherosclerotic aneurysm was 80% patients, cystic medianecrosis –7,8% patients, other aneurysm’s nosological forms – 12,2%. According 60% respondents consider that their condition and quality of life after the operation is rather fair; two years later this index is 30% and after 5 years – lover 10%.Thus, atherosclerotic aneurysm-induced mortality in under 50-year old patients was 32,25%, while in patients over 51 mortality rate increases up to 37,86%.
