Tsveyuk N. Pharmacognostical investigation of Gentiana asclepiadea L.

Systematic phytochemical and pharmacological investigations of Gentiana asclepiadea were carried out and raw materials base was determined. 4 flavonoids, xanthone, 3 phenolic acids were identified. The content of biological active compounds in root and herb dipending upon different phases of vegetation and the growing places was estimated. Hydro-alcoholic root extract and dry root and herb extracts are nontoxic and have hepatoprotective and antiinflammatory activity. Plants growing places were found on the territory of the Ukrainian Carpathians and stock of the underground and оnground organs was determined. Microscopic diagnostic features were studied. Roots and herbs of Gentiana asclepiadea are recommended to be used as medical raw materials with antiinflammatory and hepatoprotective properties. The projects of analytical normative documents “Gentiana asclepiadea root” and “Gentiana asclepiadea herbs” were developed.
