Essay

The object is a process of grinding by means of petal grinding wheel. The goal is raising the efficiency of the grinding process of oak by means of elaborating a new tools design and estimating the optimum parameters of the grinding process. The novelty is in determining analytic dependence, which links the pressing power of the tool with its stiffness, speed of cutting, radial deformation. The stiffness quantity, which ensures uniform magnitude of the tool pressing in the process of grinding of curvilinear profile parts, is estimated on the basis of this dependence. The dependence of tool stiffness upon the quantity of petals is determined. The regress dependence, which links quantity of working elements in the petals tool, granularity of sandpaper and operating factors with surface roughness, wearing of petals, and deepness of grinding in the process of abrasive processing of oak. As a result it is suggested the grinding wheel design with mechanisms of petal fastening and regulating of working diameters; technique of structure formation of petals wheel. Owing to this, effectiveness of using of sandpaper, necessary elasticity of the tool. Optimum parameters of process are proved and certain. Area of use – woodworking industry, for grinding of curvilinear surfaces of wood, and also - in scientific researches and educational process.
