The thesis is devoted to chemical and toxicological investigation of calcium channel blocker drug - diltiazem. The results of diltiazem identification by methods TLC, HPLC, UV - spectroscopy and electrophoresis on the paper are presented and possibility of this methods use in the presence of other cardiovascular drugs has been demonstrated. Accessible methodologies based on the extraction-photometric, UV -spectrophotometric and HPLC methods for diltiazem quantitation have been elaborated. The conditions of diltiazem extraction from water solutions by organic solvents depending on pH medium have been studied. Comparative study of diltiazem isolation effectiveness from a biological material by generally accepted in toxicological analysis methods has been carried out and the own effective methodologies of diltiazem isolation by methanol and acetonitryl have been offered. The methodologies of diltiazem isolation from urine and blood have been elaborated. The distribution of drug in organs of poisoned animals and safety in a biological material under putrefaction have been studied.
