The dissertation contains a comprehensive analysis of the legal institutions status. In the paper the notion of the legal institutions status is outlined, the characteristic features of institutions as legal entities and organizational-legal form of legal entity are provided. Considerable attention is given to the definition of the term “institution”, determination of the place these non-commercial organizations occupy among the participants of civil legal relations, comparative analysis of different types of institutions.
