Gogulenko O. Transcutaneus puncture nephrostomy as the first stage of treatment of the upper urinary tract obstruction.

The dissertation considered the treatment efficacy of patients with the upper urinary tract obstruction. It is based on clinical examination of 123 patients who have been performed 131 transcutaneus puncture nephrostomy (TPNS). The efficacy and expediency of TPNS was proved as the first stage of treatment of the upper urinary tract obstruction and determination of the blocked kidney functional stage. The data obtained give evidence of TPNS being a method of choice in patients with high risk of surgery. For effective prevention and treatment of acute pyelonephritis, there was devised a method that combined the possibility of accomplishing the draining function and providing the effective antibacterial action in the caliceal - pelvic renal system. The received positive results of the research conditioned the expediency of using intraoperative prevention of chronic pyelonephritis exacerbation in practice while performing endourological operations for the upper urinary tract obstruction.
