Essay

Dissertation is based on 201 postinfarction patients observation. The study objective was to optimize treatment after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) based on sonography evaluation of left ventricle (LV) diastolic function and its long term observation. Calcium channel blocker amlodipine use in basic therapy after AMI was justified, leading to decrease in adverse forms of LV diastolic dysfunction occurence, lethal outcomes and reinfarction during five years follow-up.
