The object of research - virulence of Septoria tritici Rob. et Desm. population and resistance of winter wheat initial and breeding material to the pathogen. The purpose of research - studying special features of course of Septoria disease causative agent population: identification of specific composition, races of Septoria tritici Rob. et Desm. and their virulence. Estimating winter wheat prospective varieties and breeding material for resistance against Septoria disease causative agent. Singling out prospective sources of resistance and creating new ones. The methods - route investigation, field, laboratory, statistical. The scientific novelty of principles and conclusions consists in defining virulence and race composition Septoria tritici Rob. et Desm. population; creating new winter wheat initial material, resistant to Septoria disease causative agents; singling out winter wheat what about diseases. Significance of influence of maternal cytoplasm on the level of expression of resistance to Septoria disease is revealed in breeding for resistance when choosing parental pairs; possibility of crossing grand parents with different levels of resistance to obtain transgression is proved.
