Essay

Thesis is devoted to development of physical-technological principles and elements of technology for creation of devices of modern liquid-crystal optoelectronics based on electro-optical effects in nematic liquid crystals and cholesteric-nematic liquid-crystal mixtures. The technology for orienting microrelief deposition which create defect-free perfect oriented structures of nematic liquid crystals was developed. Technological processes for production of liquid crystal twist-nematic optical shutters for eyes safety equipment and reliable displays for extreme exploitation conditions were developed. Technological process for production of essentially new displays based on electrooptical bistability in cholesteric-nematic liquid crystal mixtures was developed.
