In the dissertation the method of stability and quality areas construction of automatic control systems by spatially one-dimensional thermal objects of type heat exchange devices is offered at convective heat exchange on the basis of the decision of the equations which define borders of required areas. The equations of boundaries of stability regions, gain margin, phase margin, sector and circular margins, oscillation index, passband, small overshoot and monotony of transient are obtained. For realization in practice of the methods offered in the dissertation, the special software package by means of which areas of stability and quality in space of two varied parameters of system of automatic control of steam heating of ship fuel are constructed is developed. Object of control of system is heat exchange device of tubular type. On the basis of the received areas the recommendations at the choice of parameters of a regulator which provide stability and the set parameters of quality of system have been made
