Ivanov I. Formation of the Ukrainian political nation in the modern world: problems and prospects.

In the thesis there has been developed the conception of the Ukrainian nation's consolidation in the context of the political processes. The theoretical and methodological bases of the research of the nation's consolidation are characterized here. The principal characteristics, components, factors of the formation and development, function, levels and trends of the evolution of the nations consolidation have been designated. There has been carried out analysis of the functioning of the national consolida-tion in accordance with the following factors: the economical development of the country; the changes in the social structure; renaissance of the language as a consolidating factor; the national idea as the basis of the state's building; ethnonational identify as the precondition of the consolidation. The research has been carried out from the point of view of the development of the ethnonational factor.
