The dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of Russian documentary prose of 1917-1920 on the material A.M. Gorky's "Nesvoevremennye mysli" ("Untimely Thoughts") (1917-1918), I.A. Bunin's "Okayannye dni" ("Damned Days") (1918-1919) and V.G. Korolenko's "Pisma k Lunacharskomu" ("Letters to Lunacharsky") (1920). The problems and poetics of the works are characterized in the context of documentalistics of the revolutionary epoch.
