Starokadomskyy P. The development of buccal preparation with insulin and evaluation of its effectiveness in correction of stomatological disorders in patients with diabetes mellitus

The work is devoted to the development of buccal preparation with insulin. A lysalbinate has been proposed as a absorption enhancer for protein buccal administration for the first time. It has been shown that insulin buccal compositions with lysalbinate are more acceptable for the prolonged use in comparison with the compositions containing the traditional absorption enhancer, for example sodium deoxycholate. For the first time the efficiency of buccal preparation with insulin for the treatment of traumatic stomatitis and prevention of periodontosis in diabetic rats has been demonstrated. The obtained data revealed that regular administration of buccal preparation with insulin resulted in insulin penetration and accumulation in the mouth cavity mucosa in quantities sufficient for local normalization of the metabolism that was disrupted as a result of the development of diabetes. For the first time the chewing form of buccal preparation with insulin was created and patented.
