Epithet word-combinations (EW) in the novels by P.Kulish, I.Netchuy-Levitsky, A.Tchaikovsky. To study semantics, stylistic and text functions of EW. The methods of component analysis, stylistic analysis, of the modelling. The stereotyping of EW as a means of creating language-historical picture of world has been emphasized. The epithet vocabulary of the Ukrainian language has been enriched with word-combinations which pragmatic-evaluating meaning is connected with the understanding of the historical period of the cossacks. Material can be used in lexicography, stylistics.
