The conceptualisation of the notion of social thinking and its heuristic possibilities in theoretical analysis of K. Mannheim's sociological conception of thinking is taken in the thesis. The structure of social thinking and the relationship between the latter one and the social structure of the society are examined. The functional role of estimating opinions as parts of social thinking and the relationship between the problem of verity in sociology and the problems of receiving and keeping power are analysed.
