The dissertation research is devoted to the problem of the formation of initial professional quality of future primary school teachers - humanistic orientation. The historical genesis of the views of scientists and practitioners on the humanistic essence of pedagogic activities is revealed in the work. The invariant content of the characteristics of humanism is defined; the aggregate of psychological and pedagogical conditions which help to form the humanistic orientation of future primary school teachers in the process of professional training in teacher training higher institutions is concretized. The theoretical model of the humanistic orientation which includes the cognitive, motivational and performance components is suggested. The methodological base of the investigation which includes the aggregate of methods that allow characterizing the display of the humanistic orientation in performance and personal projections is defined. The results of the ascertaining experiment show that the traditionalsystem of the professional training in a teacher training institution does not provide the formation of the humanistic orientation of future primary school teachers and those qualities that assure its realization. The special course "The formation of the humanistic orientation of future primary school teachers" was introduced into the process of learning. Its program includes theoretical and practical parts which are devoted to the revealing of the complex and ambiguous character of the realization of humanistic relations in the process of pedagogical activities taking into consideration the specificity of the primary school teacher's activities. The results of the assessment proved the effectiveness of the forming experiment.
