Zabolotnay T. Epistolary heritage of V. Vynnychenko: destination and style

The author analyzes V.Vynnychenko's private correspondence on the basis of the epistolary literary criticism and reveals its significance for the literary process in the first half of the 20th century. The research touches upon the theoretical aspects of the research of the writer's epistolary heritage. On the material of the private correspondence of V.Vynnychenko, Oleksandr Oles, Lesia Ukrainka, Y.Chykalenko and M. Gorky the author investigates their views of the role and tasks of literary criticism, characterizes the special features of the functions of the epistolary literary and critical evaluations and their influence on the literary process of that time. The dissertation also comprises the study of V.Vynnychenko's epistolary journalism and open letters as well as a detailed history of their writing and publishing. The careful analysis of V.Vynnychenko's correspondence as the element of the creative process expands substantially the study of the creative history of the writer's novels.
