Essay

Obiect: hybrids of maize for the Eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Aim: selection of hybrids adapted to the weather conditions and with a glance to the Register of Varieties. Methods: field, laboratory, mathematical statistics. Novelty: there was elaborated a method of hybrid selection for a continental climatic zone with a glance to limitting factors and separate agrotechnical elements. Results: ithas bun established that limitting factors for maize in the Eastern Steppe are the sum of bioclimatic temperatures at a frostless period, rain precipitation and a modern state of the Register. Different maturity group hybrids possess a similar level of productivity under the condition of formation of optimal plant density. Application stage: the hybrids were put on the recommended list. Application area: State Variety Trial, agroindustrial production of Ukraine.
