Object: physiologic and biologic processes which take place in plants and separate processes in the ground, depending on elements and practices of the technology for bulb onion growing. Aim: to work out and master the complex of elements and practices of the technology for bulb onion growing from seeds and sets. Methods: field laboratory ones. Novelty: under the north-east Forest-Steppe of Ukraine conditions on the basis of the complex of investigations there are determined regularities of bulb onion productivity and quality formation when growing from seeds and sets; determined optimal parameters of technological practices for bulb onion growing: predecessors, sowings protection against weeds, fertilization system, methods of sowing and growing, presowing warming up of rare ripe onion and their influence on the yield and quality of output; proved the expediency of replacement of mineral fertilization by sowing of green manure crops, broadcast application of mineral fertilizers by localized placement;defined coefficients of mineral nutrition elements taking out for formation the bulb onion yield with different technologies of growing. Results: there are worked out and introduced into production main elements and practices of intensive technology for bulb onion growing from seeds and sets, which allow to obtain the yield about 21,2-50,6 t/ha, when growing from seeds, and 26,9-45,5 t/ha, when growing from sets. Introduction extent: it is introduced in agricultural enterprises of different forms of property in Sumy region. Field of use: vegetable growing.
