Tylyk O. Nouns with the Meaning of Similarity: Means of Formation and Spheres of Usage

The object is the subsystem of derivative nouns with the meaning of similarity n the Modern Ukrainian language. The aim is make clear the development mechanisms and the peculiarities of formation of the derived meaning of similarity in subsystem of the affixational word-building of the noun in modern Ukrainian. Methods: the method of component analysis, the descriptive, statistical, comparative ones. The scientific novelty is: firstly on the basis of the Ukrainian language the development mechanisms of derivative subsystem of nouns with the meaning of similarity has been proved, the word-building groups of such nouns were defined, the derivative forming affixes with the meaning of similarity were exposed. Practical significance is the results of the investigation will be found in lexicographical practice, while studying terminological and professional vocabularies. Theoretical meaning: the result of the studying may be used for putting the light on the nature of the word-building meaning, its types, desemantisation process of diminutive suffixes and so on.
