Essay

Considering that fact, that Azerbaijan and Ukraine are situated on the main way between the East and the West, their people have absorbed all the best to what it was necessary to contact in their spiritual treasury. Economic and spiritual mutual relations of Azerbaijan with the slavic world, in particular with Ukraine which, in turn, is designated with a bright pattern by the Azerbaijan architects, were not an exception in this point. In the dissertation on archival and rare printed materials the scientific property of M.Ghulak, L.Lopatinskiy, A.Krymsky to the treasury of Transcaucasian peoples and Ukrainian oriental studies is considered. Among the first Ukrainian scientists, by virtue of the objective reasons come to be on Caucasus, there were members of the Kirill and Mephody's society, cousins - M.Ghulak, O.Navrotsky. In perfection having seized the Azerbaijanian, the Georgian, the Persian languages, they have studied in depth folklore of Turkish peoples' ("Grandfather Korkud"), M.Fizuli's ("Leylaand Majnun"), Nizami Ganjevi's ("Iskander-name"), S.Rustaveli's ("The hero in tiger skin"), etc. creativity. The special attention in the dissertation is given to scientific property of the Ukrainian oriental scholarly Lev Lopatinsky (1842-1922) who has devoted all his life to studying of folklore, ethnography and languages of numerous ethnoses of Transcaucasia, especially Azerbaijan. However, the "Kabardian grammar with the dictionary" - the first thorough work about one of the Iberian-Caucasian language family - has won the world recognition.
