Essay

The ways of winter wheat yield increasing in the conditions of the North Steppe of Ukraine are considering in the dissertation. Complex interrelationship of the forecrops, fertilization and tillage was researched. It was measured the influence of stated above factors to soil water availability, agro-physical characteristics of the soil, soil nutrients supply, soil biological activity, amount of weeds, yield, yield quality and economics of crop production. It is recommended for the production of the winter wheat the set of forecrops, which are in the combination with fertilization strategy and soil management are the most appropriate to be used in agriculture enterprises. The most appropriate economically is the growing of the winter wheat after fellow and peas. The profitability level can reach in such case 71-75% correspondingly. The highest economical returns received after mineral fertilizers application after all forecrops except peas. The most profitable after peas was manure application. Replacing of the plowing to chisel tillage reduced fuel consumption by 6-8 kg/ha, production cost was reduced by 18-26% and labor use effectiveness increased from 0,6 to 14,3 % in velation to for forecrop. The yield of winter wheat grain and it quality was the same.
