The subject - Research subject - the processes of functioning and development of small business in the agro-food complex; Research objective - justifying conceptual approaches and elaboration of practical recommendations oriented to revival of the development of small businesses; methods - abstract-logic, monographic, historical, economic and statistical analysis; novelty - justification of the advisability of introduction, into scientific use, of the notion of "aggregate small entrepreneurship" of an individual economic activity, rating-based assessment of all economic activities by financial and economic results of the operation of small agro-business units for 1998-2004; research results - recommendations on improvement in the system of taxation of small business and consolidation of the develop infrastructure of small businesses in the agro-food complex; degree of introduction - the research's results have been used in the preparation of the program of support of small businesses in the agro-food complex of Cherkasy Oblast and Shpola District in this Oblast; research field - support of the development of small business in the agrarian sphere.
