Object of research: vegetable growing in the agricultural enterprises of a steppe zone with the profound studying in the Zaporozhye area. The purpose of research: a substantiation of directions of effective development of branch of vegetable growing in the agricultural enterprises of a steppe zone of Ukraine, in particular in the Zaporozhye area. Methods: dialectic, abstract - logic, statistical groupings, monographic, graphic, the index and factorial analysis, balance, settlement - constructive, expert. Theoretical and practical results: the rational sizes of manufacture of vegetables of an open ground in the agricultural enterprises of the Zaporozhye area are designed in view of specificity of zone accommodation. Prospects of application of intensive technologies in an agricultural production in conditions of formation agricultural are determined by manufacturers of an own trading network. Directions of effective conducting manufacture of vegetables of an open ground for the period till 2010 are proved. In view of need of region for vegetables and creation of an export potential of vegetables and products of their processing. Scientific novelty: it is advanced classification of integration processes in system of agrarian and industrial complex, proceeding from the subject of the integrator when in the first case the integrator is the enterprises for processing vegetable raw material, and in the second - the agricultural enterprise. Methodical approaches concerning definition of influence of accommodation and specialization of vegetable growing on his efficiency in conditions of the market are profound by addition of zone accommodation of vegetable growing in the investigated region with concepts " a resort zone " and " an industrial zone ". Degree of introduction: the offers Developed by the author concerning application of progressive technology of cultivation of vegetables of an open ground, and also development by facilities of an own network of realization of vegetables are introduced into practicalactivities of the agricultural enterprises (SWK him. Frunze ", FG "Mrija" the Zaporozhye area). Efficiency: use of results of research will favor to growth of efficiency of vegetable growing of an open ground in the agricultural enterprises of the Zaporozhye area, to increase of competitiveness of branch. Sphere, branch of use: activity of subjects of managing on manufacture, processing and realizations of vegetables.
