Saphonova N. Subjective modality in a dialogue and in a polylogue of modern Ukrainian drama (semantics and pragmatics)

The general theoretical as well as semantic and pragmatic analysis of the category of subjective modality at the level of drama discourse is carried out in the dissertation. Dialogues and polylogues of drama, their structural, semantic and pragmatic role in representation of speaker's attitude to the message of the utterance undergo a comprehensive study. The justification that modaleme is one of the main semantic differentials of cues with the identical verbal purport is suggested. Etiology of subjective-modal meanings of drama discourse is investigated; special attention is paid to the influence of reference, con-situation and implication on the general semantic frame of a thematic dialogic block.
