Views of the myth by representatives of different scientific schools have been examined, the specifics of mythopoetic reflection of the reality has been defined and the main components of V.Gerasymyuk's mythopoetic world model have been analysed in the thesis. The phenomenon of pagan-Christian syncretism has been enlightened as the poet's basic feature of the world perception. Ideological and artistic load of "world tree', "world mountain" mythologems has been clarified as the basics of V.Gerasymyuk's mythopoetical world model. Key words: pagan beliefs, unconscious level, mythologem, archetype, topos, mythopoetic world model.
