Andriyenko O. Combined use of alfalfa for seeds and forage in condition of northern Steppe of Ukraine.

Object - Combined (for seeds and forage) use of alfalfa. The purpose - to develop and to propose to produces improved agrotechnical receptions of alfalfa cultivation for forage and seeds at combined using. To define the optimum correlation of alfalfa, radish oil, winter and spring cultures at joint growing. Methods - field experiences. Used scientific methods: hypotheses, dialectic, method of synthesis, analysis, induction, mathematical statistics. Novelty - for the first time in northern Steppe are developed methods combined (for seeds and forage) use of alfalfa, that based on drill covered sowing and wide-row with owersowing. Results: Describes how to improve existed technology of alfalfa cultivation for seeds and forage. It solves partly problem of forage protein and gives opportunity to obtain high yield of alfalfa seeds. Reveled that wide-row method of cultivation of alfalfa with oversowing of winter crops at autumn after harvesting of seed yield or by spring mixture et spring on the second year of growing, is the most expedient. It was established by investigation that combined use of alfalfa drill sowing allow to obtain high yield green forage at first year and high quality seeds at second and third years. Results have inculcated in farms of Dnipropetrovsk region on area 750 ha. Sphere - agriculture.
