Object of the research: Post-operative paresis of the gastrointestinal tract.Purpose of the research: To improve the results of surgical treatment of the patients with abdominal diseases by means of the study of prognostic criteria of post-operative paresis development in the gastrointestinal tract, to work out and introduce effective measures of prevention, treatment and dynamic control of the clinical course of this complication in an early post-operative period. Methods of research: Laboratory, electrophysiological, x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopic, statistical.Practical significance of the obtained findings: A microprocessor unit for computer monitoring of bioelectrical activity parameters of the gastrointestinal tract in a post-operative period was worked out and introduced to the clinical practice. A complex method of prevention and treatment of paresis of the gastrointestinal tract, which allows improving immediate results of surgery, was developed.Novelty: Phase changes in the central hemodynamicsand pancreatic blood flow, most pronounced after resection of the stomach and gastrectomy with voluminous lymphodissection, were revealed after the surgery on the abdominal organs. It was proven that disorders of central hemodynamics and pancreatic blood flow play an important role in the pathogenesis of post-operative pancreatitis and development of prolonged post-operative paresis of the intestine. The efficacy of complex therapy with adequate correction of hemodynamic disorders and early enteral nutrition in prevention and treatment of post-operative paresis of the gastrointestinal tract was shown. The monitoring of motor-evacuation function of the gastrointestinal tract allowed improving stimulating therapy of the intestine, which allowed reducing the incidence of pareses after the surgery.Degree of introduction: The findings of the research were introduced to the work of Regional Traumatology Hospital (Kharkiv) Kharkiv Regional Cancer Hospital and are used in the teaching process at departments of oncology and endoscopy, surgery and topographic anatomy of Kharkiv Medical Academy for Post-graduate Training.Sphere of application: Medicine, surgery.
