This is devoted to the architectural and compositional movement characteristics revelation in the framework of aesthetic and psychological perception of its spatial and temporal structure units. The analysis of historic town-planning ensembles of Chernygov, Izyum, Svyatogorsk has been carried out. This analysis is represented from the point of view of rhythmic formation of their composition, considering aesthetic and emotional (archetypal) aspect of perception of architectural and spatial structures. Emotional, psychological and information-forming potential of the movement factor has been revealed. The concept of “threshold space” in the form of archetypal aspect of rhythmic accent has been introduced. It has been established, that the rhythmic sequence of spaces, which is formed with the help of accent and pauses, influences the complex of impressions, formed while moving. Thus, an accent should be provided with the “threshold space” characteristic, and a pause with “dimension” characteristic. On the basis of the carried out research, the technique of architectural and semiotic analysis of the city compositional structure (ensemble), taking into account the psychological aspect of perception, has been developed.
