Krakovich A. Еpidemiological characteristic rotavirus infection and ways of improvement epidemiological survey

In the dissertation the features of epidemic process rotavirus infections (RVI) and acute intestinal infections unknown etiology in Ukraine. The offered the epidemiological surveillance system for rotavirus infection. Methods of research: epidemiological, virusological and statistical. All scales of age can be ill with RVI, but about 68,8% causes registrated among children in the age till 2 years. This group is specified as "group of risk". The role of adults as possible sources of an infection for children is established. In long-term dynamics of RVI has a tendency to growth of the index and periodic rises 2-4 years apart. The winter-spring seasonality with the peak level of morbidity in March is descovered. In condition of absence of epidemiological monitoring for RVI, realization of preventive actions concerning younger age children, can be based on the grounds of the analysis of morbidity of acute intestinal infections unknown etiology. On the basis of the analysis of epidemiological characteristics of RVI disease, it is offered the epidemiological surveillance system for rotavirus infection.
