Object of the research: the process of managing economic risks at the enterprises of the enterprises of the coal industry; The aim of the work: theoretical substantiation of the approaches to managing economic risks of the enterprises and development of scientific-methodical recommendations concerning their application; Technique of the research and instruments: the method of expert ratings, statistical and economic analysis; synthesis, analysis, system and situational approaches, modes of theoretical generalization and comparisons; Theoretical and practical results: advancement of the scientific-methodical approach to formation of a control system of economic risks at the enterprises of the coal industry; methodical maintenance of the risk combined rating which is based on combining statistical analysis of financial results of the enterprises with the methods of trees of failures and the risk expert rating; risk classification of enterprise activity in the coal industry; further development received by: specification of the essence and notions of the concepts “economic risks” and “risk situation”; systemizing the principles of risk management; practical value of the results received lies in the application of the offered scientific – practical development for the solution of the problems of economic risk management at the enterprises of the coal industry; Subject and degree of introduction into practice: the development is put into operation by the state enterprise “Ordzhnikidseugol’”, the coal mine “Ol’khovatskaja”, the coal mine named after Karl Marx, “Poltava”, the state enterprise “Artemugol’”.
