Essay

The work deals with the study of features of the central nervous system (CNS) disorders, formation of cerebrovascular pathology (CP) and functional state of the brain in patients with hypothyrosis (HT) of different severity. We examined 208 patients with primary HT divided into groups depending of the severity of HT. A complex of methods of investigation: clinico-neurological, neuropsychological, electrophysiological (variability of cardiac rhythm (CR), spectral analysis of CR, rheoencephalography (REG), electroencephalography (EEG), acoustic brain stem evoked potentials (ABSEP), visual evoked potentials (VEP), sonographic (ultrasound dopplerography) and biochemical (indexes of lipid metabolism and oxydant-antioxydant system, levels of thyroid and thyrotropic hormones) was curry out to reveal the disorders of cerebral hemodynamics and the functional state of the brain and to work out some effective schemes of diagnosis and treatment. The main mechanism forming the CP and changed functional state of thebrain in patients with HT is a decrease in thyroid hormone level and related disturbances of lipid metabolism, the oxydate - antioxydate system, the vascular tension regulation. Changes in the cerebral hemodynamics are noted in mild diseases and progress depending on the HT severity. Characteristic changes in the functioning of the central links of visual and auditory analysis were revealed. It allows us to use VEP and ABSEP in an earlier preclinical diagnosis of cerebral disorders in patients with HT, to estimate the severity of HT and efficacy of treatment. As scheme of course pathogenetic adequate treatment in patients having HT with encephalopathy using a complex of instenon+enterosorbent was developed and it's efficacy shown
