Stetsyuk R. Resistant epilepsies and epileptic syndromes in children.

The dissertation is devoted to the improvement of diagnostic tactics in resistant epilepsies and epileptic syndromes, by carrying out a complex clinical and clinico-instrumental inspection. For the first time, a complex clinico-instrumental research of resistant epilepsies and epileptic syndromes in children by using a neuroradiological method of single photon emission computer tomography of the brain has been carried out. It has been established that the character of disturbances of radiodrug perfusion in the brain of children with resistant and non-resistant epilepsies and epileptic syndromes differs substantially. The expression of hypoperfusion foci in the brain coincides with EEG-, MRI-data. Established clinico-instrumental concurrences have allowed improving the standards of diagnosing resistant epilepsy and resistant epileptic West and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. The results of research have allowed one to improve the diagnosis of resistant epilepsies and epileptic syndromes by carrying out a complex clinical and clinico-instrumental inspection.
