The objects are the novels of P.Zagrebelny. The aim is to study the evolution of the ethnopsychological concept of personality in the prose of P.Zagrebelny. The methods are comparative-historical, integrated, system, hermeneutic, typological. Analyzing an author's creation presupposes foremost comprehending concept of personality along the lines of psychoanalytic literary criticism. One of the main topics of author's works is love in its physical and emotional states. P.Zagrebelny connects this feeling with ethnopsychological peculiarities of Ukrainians, such as love to Big Mother in the image of ground, mistress, mother, Motherland, Ukraine. Ethnopsychological discourse is specifically embodied in absurdity, unspirituality and tragedy of gender relationships in Ukraine, which predetermines such poetics features as philosophy, polemic confrontation.
