Object of research - the language of ukrainian sportsmen and persons involving in sports activities. Subject - jargon as composite part of sportsman's language, features of various types of its meaning. The purpose of research is to reveal regularities of staging and formation of sportive jargon in ukrainian language clearing out the reasons of its existance and functioning as composite vocabulary of sportsman, determination the principal types and methods of formation of corresponding jargonisms. Methods of research - description, statistic, contextual and component analyses, typological, diachronic and synchronous analyses. Novelty of research - poliaspectual and complex analysis of sportive jargonisms of various types of nomenclature, semantic, word formation, syntactic. Theoretical results - deepening modern meanings on functional - stylistic differentiation of ukrainian language. Practical results - application of theoretical setting in educational and publishing activities on problems of social linguistics.
