Glovatskyi I. Ukrainian lawyers of East Galicia as defending counsels in criminal cases on accusation of political crimes fulfilment (1918-1939)

The legal status of the Ukrainian territories of East Galicia during the intermilitary period is found out, the change of a legal status of political prisoners is followed, features of prejudicial investigation and proceeding in criminal cases on accusation of political crimes fulfilment, procedural position of defending counsels under the legislation of Poland is investigated. Illegality of indictments of the Polish courts concerning condemnation of Ukrainians accused in fulfilment of political crimes against Poland during the period from the end of 1918 till March 14, 1923 is established. Prominent features of oratorical skill and structure of protective speeches of the Ukrainian lawyers in political litigations are investigated. Process of ethics norms formation in activity of the Polish lawyers and occurrence of special national norms of ethical behaviour of the Ukrainian lawyers, development of freedom of speech and lawyer immunity institutes.
