Essay

An object of research in the dissertation work are processes of destruction of coke under the conditions of high temperatures and corrosive media. The purpose and tasks of work is development a new method of determination of thermal stability of coke considering compression forces acting on coke in the blast furnace. This will allow one to determine all the factors, that have an influence on the ability of coke to resist destroying forces of high temperatures and corrosive gas medium and to develop technical and process measures, allowing one to raise the quality of coke. In order to characterize the ability of coke to resist thermal, mechanical and chemical effects a traditional set of standard and special chemical and physical - chemical research: methods was used determination of reaction capacity of coke, structural strength of coke, density and porosity of coke, mechanical strength of coke, x-ray characteristics of coke. A scientific novelty of the executed research is characterized by the scientific findings obtained and shown in the dissertation for the time, developed methods, procedures and recommendations. The practical value of the results consists in development and testing in the industrial conditions of the method of increasing thermal stability of coke on different stages of its production and introduction of practical methods, developed during the work. The area of application of the results of this work is coke making and steel making.
