Zhuk N. Checks and balances in the system of the separation of powers in Ukraine (general theoretical problems).

In the dissertation we have thoroughly studied general theoretic problems, connected with origin, development and functioning of checks and balances in the system of the separation of powers. The general ideas, which are included in the basic system of categories of the theory of checks and balances, are formulated. Features and contents of the system of mutual checks are fixed, measure of efficiency of its components are defined. Factors that condition on the specificity of action of checks and balances in the conditions of modern democratic state have been studied. We have found the principles of ensuring the balance between the branches of power, preconditions of its breach and methods of its renovation.
