Object of research - processes of state regulation of employment of the population in Ukraine and Donetsk region. The purpose of research - theoretical and methodical substantiation of bases of improvement of mechanisms of state regulation of employment of the population in region. Methods of research - analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction, comparison, generalization, system approach, script modeling, statistical and graphic methods. Practical significance of results of research - the results of research can be fixed in a basis of determination of priority directions of improvement of structure of employment of the population and mechanism of state regulation of employment of the population in region. The scientific novelty of the received results of research consists in development of theoretical and methodical bases of improvement of mechanisms of state regulation of employment of the population. For the first time compound systems of formation of rational structure of employment of the population are offered and justified; the structure of regional management in sphere of employment on principles of decentralization is offered. The contents of normative and legal base of state regulation of employment of the population; the mechanism of regulation of employment of the population is advanced. The factors influencing transformation of structure of employment of the population; elements of the theory of state management; strategic problems on improvement of a demographic situation; the principles of construction of the mechanism of stimulation of the employers for creation of jobs for youth have received the further development.
